Children’s Center Director’s Retreat

The Orfalea Children’s Center Director’s Retreat is a unique program that supports increased quality in early childhood education.

The Retreat is a three-day event for the directors of child development and early care education centers in Santa Barbara County. The purpose of the conference is to provide education, inspiration, networking opportunities and tools to the leaders of children's centers that provide care to infants, toddlers and preschool children.

The Retreat includes expert speakers, presentations, visits to high quality children's centers, and the sharing of best practices. Additionally, networking with other professionals and organizations allows opportunities for connection and partnership. Our goal is that all who attend return to their centers and homes feeling rejuvenated and recharged, dedicated to professional growth and further positive changes for young children in educational settings.

In spring 2011, the Retreat focused on preschool food and healthy habits, quality outdoor environments, and supporting children’s successful transitions to Kindergarten.

The Retreat is coordinated by Adrianna Foss, Orfalea Foundation Early Childhood Education Director.
