Funding through Aware & Prepare

 

Projects Funded

Over 40 projects and programs have been supported directly by Aware & Prepare, and various other projects and programs have been supported through the establishment of relationships in the community. An investment of over $5-million has been made since 2008 to fulfill the mission of Aware & Prepare.

Funding Structure Moving Forward

Ongoing funding opportunities related to Aware & Prepare must be in line with the strategies of the Santa Barbara County Operational Area through the Emergency Manager’s Committee (EMC) and the Santa Barbara County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD). Organizations and agencies MUST be within Santa Barbara County to be eligible, and be members of either of the aforementioned groups. Applicants must demonstrate a history of collaborating on preparedness efforts with key nonprofit organizations and government agencies in Santa Barbara County, and new requests must fall into one or more of the following priority areas:

  • Public Education & Awareness
  • Preparedness (Governmental and Non-Governmental)
  • Emergency Public Information
  • Volunteers
  • Authority, Management and Operational Area Coordination
  • Resources and Personnel
